WHY HIRE A PLANNER? READ THIS

Hello lovelies! I know a wedding planner talking about why hiring a wedding planner is important might seem redundant, but I just wanted to take a moment to share a recent experience that solidifies the importance of having help on your day.

We are well into our season now and Blush & Bowties’ weddings are off to a great start, but of course, there are always little things that arise on the day to troubleshoot, as well as bigger challenges to tackle. An example of a larger challenge was when we arrived at a venue to set up the couple’s details and the room was unfortunately set incorrectly. The couple had requested and we had communicated that the napkins should be done as a pocket fold so their custom menus could be utilized on the place settings, but alas this had not happened. As well, the glassware was placed on the wrong side of the table setting and all the cutlery needed to be reset. The venue only had one staff member available to set up, so our team rolled up our sleeves and dove in to help. We youtubed how to do a pocket fold napkin and got to work - resetting the entire room, making sure everything was to the couple’s liking.

The truth is, if our team wasn’t there this would not have gotten done. Venues have a lot going on and to take care of, so having a dedicated team of planners to take care of any missteps is just so important. As a planner, I feel the need to tread lightly when coming into a venue, as I know this is not my turf and it’s important to work as a team with the space. When entering into a wedding day, I will always have my client’s best interest at heart, and approach working with venues with the utmost respect (while still making sure everything gets done correctly and with care). If dirty glassware is put on the table, I’m going to make sure it gets replaced. We will go through and finesse the tables to ensure everything is straight and set with care, because I truly (madly, deeply?) want the best for our couples and their guest’s experience. We might get a couple eye rolls when we go through and line up all the chairs perfectly so the room photos are amazing, but ultimately, the couple’s best interest is my soul intention on the day of the wedding.

Our team takes incredible pride in every detail. If it’s not done right, we will make sure it is corrected, even if it means folding hundreds of napkins over again. I know this won’t be the last time our team will have to step up in a big way to troubleshoot, but in some ways, it gives me incredible fulfilment knowing we were there to solve the issue. It’s proof that our role as a planner is a necessary one.

Till next time loves!
