Miller Lash House Wedding
About a year ago and a half ago, I had the pleasure of helping a couple named Alexis and Mike with their downtown hotel wedding. When I heard the news that her sister was engaged, I was beyond thrilled to get the call from Brittany to help plan her and her new fiance Trevor’s wedding. Alexis and Britt come from a family of 4 gals and they are undoubtedly and the most gorgeous looking set of sisters you will ever meet not to mention generous, grounded and loving. When sitting down to chat with Britt and Trev for the first time about their wedding, I knew we were going to make a fab wedding planning team. Britt and Trevor came to me looking for an outdoor wedding with lots of natural beauty but not too far from the city. Instantly Miller Lash House came to mind, and after visiting the historic venue nestled in the ravine at U of T Scarborough campus, this stylish yet laidback couple had found their dream venue.
When chatting about their vision, we dreamt up a romantic garden wedding with touches of rustic features and a show stopping arch. It was pretty cool to see this beautiful vision come to life on their wedding day.
Their ceremony was set on the lawn just beyond the Miller Lash House which slopes down to a picturesque forest background. The always incredible Cool Green and Shady provided the lovely lanterns that framed the aisle down to an arch (also provided by CCS) that took my breath away. I always smile when I remember the moment that Britt saw the arch of her dreams for the first time, moments before she walked down the aisle to marry the man of her dreams.
Cocktail hour took place outside on the stone patio while guests were serenaded with the musical talents of Jet Entertainment. Details included a white vintage window frame with custom made seating charts tags, mailbox card holder, and a handmade wooden direction sign. KPush studios stole the couple away at this time to get some breathtaking shots of the couple in the natural setting.
There was definitely a wow factor when entering the Miller Lash House tent. The tent is surrounded by lush greenery that lends to the intimate and garden like feel. Cool Green and Shady outdid themselves with blush and champagne arrangements and a head table backdrop including lanterns and romantic cherryblooms. Guests were served up a delicious meal by Enville Catering and entertained into the wee hours by Jet Entertainment and the darn best photobooth in the city provided by Snaptique. The love beamed from the couple the entire day.
I don’t remember not seeing a smile on their faces for one moment of their wedding. To me, this is what it is all about. I felt very blessed to be apart of their celebration and wish them all the very best in their marriage.
