Toronto Wedding Workshop
Hello my lovelies! I have some big news that I am so excited to finally announce. Blush + Bowties will be hosting The Blush Creative, a Toronto wedding workshop for wedding and styling enthusiasts this spring, April 29 and 30, at The Great Hall (Conversation Room). The workshop is for creative entrepreneurs looking to develop their design skills and strengthen their business minds and souls. Our aim is to deepen the knowledge and styling skills of individuals interested or involved in the wedding planning and styling profession as well as focusing on business development and personal well being as an entrepreneur.
The idea to host a Toronto wedding workshop had been brewing in my mind and heart for many years and our team has been working hard to develop inspiring sessions for the attendees. My why in launching this workshop boils down to establishing and supporting a community of creative entrepreneurs and equipping them with hands on tools and knowledge specific to the wedding industry. I believe in doing what you love and finding purpose in your career, and I hope this workshop instills the same spirit in those who attend.
We have absolutely incredible speakers who will be sharing their knowledge and passion at the workshop. Paige Boersma, of Studio Bicyclette, will be sharing insights on styling your brand and telling your story on Instagram. There will be hands on time with Paige to style your own instagram pictures and put her tips to practice. Tellie, from Hunt and Gather Floral, will be sharing her skills as a floral designer and touching on keys floral trends. Attendees will have the chance to experience Tellie arrange a floral piece in person and deepen their awareness of the incredible skill and talent that goes into being a wedding florist. Scarlet, of Scarlet O'Neill Photography, will also be taking the attendees on a journey of what it is to be a wedding photography, how she shares her client's story with heart and authenticity, and shedding some light on the many styles of modern photography.
I will also speaking on a number of topics including the modern wedding approach and aesthetic (and what that means!), cultivating your brand and selling with soul, two effective marketing tools for creative entrepreneurs, and sharing essential design skills to curate thoughtful and stylish weddings, with a focus on tabletop design. Each attendee will get to style their own place setting (with wonderful treasure from Plate Occasions) that will tell the story of a style shoot concept they will have developed, and walk away with a professional photo by Scarlet O'Neill of their work. There will be lots of time allocated for questions and the workshop will wrap up with a session on taking care of yourself as a entrepreneur and the importance of personal wellness as a business owner. A prosecco party will conclude the 2 day festivities where attendees can mingle with the speakers and other workshop goers.
A workbook will be provided to encourage continuation of the lessons learned in the workshop long after the weekend is over. Each attendee will receive an incredible gift basket with goodies from Green House Juice Co., Le Dolci, Wildcraft, Kitten and the Bear, Sloane Tea, Rowan Homespun, Sugi Tree Studio, . . . and more!
You can read a full breakdown of the workshop here which includes pricing and registration information! The workshop will only be open to 24 attendees, so if you are interested in registering or know anyone who is, do so early to insure a spot and to receive the early bird price!
I couldn't be more excited to launch this Toronto wedding workshop. This has been a true labour of love and I am over the moon excited to be launching this new journey and doing so with such an incredible group of talented, girl bosses.
Until next time, xo, Alexandra McNamara
